Shopify SEO Case Study: 37% More Organic Clicks in Three Months
A US Shopify brand selling waterproof phone cases, portable travel safes, MagSafe accessories and chargers. Here's what we worked on, what changed in Google Search Console, and what still needs work.

The starting point
Plenty of Impressions, Not Enough Clicks
The store already appeared in Google for a lot of searches: over 300,000 impressions in a quarter. The problem was that too few of those people clicked. Click-through rate sat at 1.8%, collection pages weren't pulling their weight, and the blog had little content around the real situations where customers need the products, like keeping a phone safe at the beach or securing valuables in a college dorm.
What we did
SEO and AI SEO Work on the Store
Problem-led blog content
Articles built around real use cases and buying questions: managing your phone on the beach, protecting phone and keys while canoeing, whether MagSafe wallets are safe for credit cards, and honest product comparisons.
Collection and on-page SEO
Work on the main collection pages, page titles and meta descriptions so that the searches the store already appeared for turned into more clicks.
AI SEO
Content written to answer questions directly and clearly, with comparison and "best for" formats that AI search tools and Google's AI features can understand and quote.

What Changed in Google Search Console
More clicks from fewer impressions
Organic clicks rose 37% to 7.8K over three months while impressions fell 11% to 285K. CTR improved from 1.8% to 2.7%, so the traffic arriving is more relevant.
New non-branded searches
"best dorm safe" went from no clicks to 71 clicks. Searches for the brand name grew too, gaining 227 clicks.
Blog posts that took off
The beach phone guide went from 20 to 170 clicks and from 1.69K to 17K impressions, moving from position 9.1 to 7.5. Newer posts on Bluetooth speakers and floating phone cases reached page-one positions (7.9 and 8.1) within their first months.
Collection pages
Collection pages earned 1.41K clicks, up 18%, with CTR rising from 2.3% to 2.9%. The main collection alone brought 1,182 clicks from 22.7K impressions.
The honest part
What Still Needs Work
Not every number went up. Average position slipped from 6 to 8.7 across the site, and the most recent 28 days showed a 9% dip in clicks, mainly from a small group of pages that had been performing very well. Some blog posts, like the MagSafe wallet guides, rank on page one but have a low CTR (0.4–0.6%).
That's where the next phase focuses: rewriting titles and meta descriptions on high-impression pages, refreshing the pages that dipped, and building on the categories that are already growing. We'd rather show you that than a cherry-picked screenshot.
